Pumping Up the Volume with Marilyn!

I’m the TSU Liaison for COMM WEEK 09 serving on the Scheduling and Logistic Committee.

Every week I meet with Assistant Dean Bockman, my new friend, and together we review all the details for all the special events. We review the setup details to make sure the conference room will be set up properly. Also any other details like who will be catering, does the event need a manager to help with audio visual equipment, what classes or clubs will be attending, who the guest speakers will be, and …. GET THE PICTURE. This is my favorite part because I know everything about what’s going on at COMM WEEK.

Some of the exciting events are the Student Society Film Festival, Entertainment Tourism Club is having a panel discussion followed by a Mixer, PRSSA is having a Casino Night with Public Relations professional. The Career Center is hosting an internship panel with professionals from every aspect on communications. After the panel students can network with the panelist while enjoying some light snacks. It has been so fun to get all the inside information about COMM WEEK and work with AD Bockman.

My other new friend is Tracey an Event Planner at the TSU. She is a wealth of information and great to work with. I meet with her every week and together we make sure the TSU has all the correct information for COMM WEEK. Patient is Tracey’s middle name. She never gets flustered with all my questions and changes. Last week I showed up in her office with 35 new events, all “Professor of the Day” speakers, and she just smiled and got to work.

It’s real exciting seeing how COMM WEEK is coming together. It’s going to be AMAZING!
